Colonial Cuenca

and Surroundings (2D/1N)

This culture-filled trip packs tradition, colonial charm and beautiful nature into just two days. Travelling inland from Guayaquil, wind through the majestic Andes into a traditional valley where you’ll meet indigenous people and learn about their artisanal trades including hand-crafted instruments, beautifully patterned textiles and famous Panama hats.

The following morning is a chance to discover Cuenca’s colonial beauty. Declared a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Site in 1999, this timeless city is comprised of cobblestone streets, bright white churches with soaring steeples, and harmonious houses with geranium-filled balconies. After visiting Cuenca’s best bits, we’ll drive to ‘El Cajas’, climbing through cloud forests to reach this stunning national park teeming with flora and fauna.
