We won at the World Travel Awards 2021

Andean Travel Company has been recognized at the global stage with TWO World Travel Awards:

South America’s Leading Destination Management Company & Ecuador’s Leading Destination Management Company.

Thanks to our clients, colleagues, and partners’ generous support, we outperformed 9 contenders from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Brazil, and 5 local colleagues, taking the Gold in both categories.

These two awards evidence Andean Travel Company’s regional leadership at designing and executing high-level tours, events, activities, transportation, and program logistics with impeccable quality and success. 

In a broader context, this signals Ecuador’s solid direction towards establishing itself as a major player in the post-COVID travel panorama.

Digital giant Booking.com surveyed almost 30,000 individuals across thirty different countries about their perspectives on sustainable travel for 2021. They found that 81% of respondents would favor staying in a sustainable accommodation in their future holidays. This represents a growth of 10 percentage points compared to the previous year’s results.

However, 46% of respondents reported not being familiar with sustainable destinations and accommodations. Therefore, this is a golden opportunity for travel agents to seize Ecuador’s emergence as a green destination, having won this year’s South America’s Leading Green Destination 2021. 

Just to give a hint, Andean Travel Company’s own line of cruises donated last June $10,000 to the Galapagos-based Charles Darwin Foundation, in an effort to increase marine species protection. Travelers can help expand these much-needed aids by choosing our cruise products for their Galapagos exploration.

On another hand, medical authorities have been encouraging travelers to choose destinations that allow entertainment and accommodation in wide-open spaces. A Forbes Magazine article examines this global tendency, reaching the conclusion that natural destinations triumph over urban ones in the foreseeable future. Ecuador winning South America’s Leading Whale Watching Destination 2021 is an example of the safe travel alternatives available. 

We want to end this note by mentioning that Ecuador’s largest city Guayaquil has been named South America’s Leading Meetings & Conference Destination 2021. Economic re-activation requires planning and incentivizing the workforce, and Guayaquil offers the facilities and resources required to carry this out.
